sounds like a nasty experiment that should be carry out inside a fume cabinet. heat is not recommended, especially if you are working with concentrated substances

well first, he dried NaCl in oven. then he boiled battery acid untill it fumed, it went from clear to coffree brown color. The muriatic acid is 31% store bought. But when its time to gass, dropping sulfuric acid on to hcl/NaCl/does not seem to give off enough fumes unless he add a little heat. This was tried in a 500ml flask in dry conditions,(so he thinks) just to see how good the mixture gassed, but will be using a 2liter flask for the real thing. Is the reaction vessel an issue here¿ Should he keep heating sulfuric acid untill no fumes come out¿  Any help is greatly appreciated..oh one more thing, the NaCl store bought saturated salt comes with other ingredients labled in the back, like pottsassium somethin, and fluorine or something, wonder if this is a problem? PLEASE *delete me*

The vapor pressure of fumes that are released from straight HCL is a factor of acid concentration, temperature, and iron content. You can find charts in this publication: http://pas.mnsi.net/hydrochloricwhysnhows.PDF

In humid weather you will be able to see the fumes in my experience.
