Hi; I have a question about phenols.  The question is why the absorbance of phenols and phenolate differ?  And which one has the higher wavelength of absorbance?  I'm not sure how to go about this question, I have the resonance structures drawn out for both phenol and phenolate, should I compare their stabilities?  Because they both seem stable.  Thank you so much for your help.
