Finding an equation for entropy and enthalpy
« on: March 11, 2015, 09:50:24 PM »
Hey guys, so I'm here today trying to seek guidance on a problem. What I know is that:

PV = (1/3) * U(T,V)

U(T,V) = V * u(T)

u(T) is to be determined, and I have to take into account (dU/dV)_T = T * (dS/dV)_T - P

I solved for u(T) and got an answer of u(T) = const * T^4

My problem comes with the next part, I need to find an equation of entropy and enthalpy using u(T).

I know that P = (1/3) * u(T)  and that (dP/dT)_V = (dS/dV)_T

For some reason I'm failing to make the connection on how to solve an equation of enthalpy and entropy based on what I've got. Any pointers?

EDIT: Would using (dP/dT)_V = (1/3) * (dU/dT) help me further this problem?
