My original question is: would aqueous ammonia, lying on parchment paper, react with the wax?
but apparently people use ammonia to strip off the hard wax flooring. this can't be via a dissolving mechanism since you have a super polar substance, and a super non-polar substance. which would leave a reaction taking place. if i'm right so far, does this mean that ammonia would react even faster with the wax on parchment paper?
