The science of hair
« on: June 18, 2015, 10:35:46 AM »
Hi,  I am an entrepreneur looking to develop a product that extends or maximizes the anagen phase in the hair growth cycle.

I would like to consult with a chemistry student who comprehends the molecular breakdown, identification, localization and extraction of pertinent vitamins and minerals.

I realize this so not really the best place to be posting this, but any assistance would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Veronica

At the RSC Thermal Methods Group last year there were a couple of presentations on hair chemistry from the group of Prof Franz Wortmann at the School of Materials, University of Manchester, UK. I'm sure they're not the only ones, but you could try contacting them.

Try a university library, and see if they have collections of hair chemistry articles, so you can begin to know whose work to look at, along the lines of what mjc123: suggested.  Once at a large university, I saw a 10 volume collection of articles, just on the chemistry of Black skin (hey, that was their title, not mine.)  I was really stunned there was that much to talk about the differences between two races skin, but actually, the aging process is very different.  There's reams of science many of us don't even realize exists.
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.
