I have decided that I would like to go into the chemistry field, but have some questions as to possible end goals. I love to work with more of a hands on research chemistry. By that I mean that prefer chemistry for solving  lab problems not necessarily theorizing  or environmental chemistry per se...if that makes any sense to you, you deserve an award! I was looking at chemical engineering or getting a PhD and going into R&D. Are there any other paths that are more hands on? Forensic sciences sound interesting; nuclear isn't really my forte.

Chemical engineering will probably get you more opportunities to solve problems with materials or processes than chemistry.

Sounds like research could interest you. Try shadowing students in different fields of chemistry (i.e analytical organic inorganic..) to see what you like
