Negative and positive blank
« on: September 21, 2015, 06:40:29 AM »
hi

every time I read my microplate the blank readings are 0.001, -0.001 or similar to this value. what is the average for such readings? is it 0.00 or 0.001? I need to know the blank average to do the correction for the rest of the wells.

Please help.

Average is sum over number of samples. Average of -1 and +1 is (-1+1)/2 = 0/2 = 0.

Average is sum over number of samples. Average of -1 and +1 is (-1+1)/2 = 0/2 = 0.

And plotted on a line, you can plainly see where the "middle" is, at 0.
