How do all the biochem cycles interact with eachother
« on: May 06, 2006, 11:00:33 AM »
Im looking for some kind of diagram of how all the different biochem cycles interact with eachother.  Does anyone know where I can find one?

There's a poster called "biochemical pathways" by Roche. If you ask nicely, they may send it to you for free.

Wow there are a lot more cycles then I thought.  Anything a little more basic?  Just stuff like the TCA,glycolysis..ect, keytone synthesis, urea.

Not that I heard off. Every fundamental biochemistry textbook should contain all the basic cycles and you could draw your own poster. However, it's better to know the basic stuff by heart anyway.

I know the first year biochemistry and biology undergraduates at my university had to memorise the names and the structures of all the amino acids (a.a)  in the body. LOL. I know there are least 20 a.a

Yup.  And in our upper division classes we get to memorize the pathways and enzymes in the biosynthesis of the 20 amino acids, not to mention all of the other biologically important materials.
