What is the difference between SN1 and SN2 reactions in regards to stereochemistry? Just having issues with this....

One change the stereo chemistry and the other one not. Which one? You have to understand the two mechanism.

Consider e.g. attack of bromide on (R)-2-butanol by each mechanism in turn. What product(s) result?
