Extraction
« on: January 27, 2016, 09:44:40 AM »
Hello!

I need to solve a question as soon as possible but even if I'm studying, I can't understand how to solve it. Question is:

100kg/h of a water and acetone mix (25% acetone), are treated in one stage with MIK (metil-isobutil-ketone) trying to extract de acetone.

If the mixture mentioned before is treated with 120kg/h of S, calculate:

a) Max. and Min. water flow to use.
b) Max. concentration of acetone that you can obtain in the extract.
c) Extract and final refined composition.
d) Extracting and refining flows.
e) Percentage of acid extracted.

If the mixture mentioned before is treated in 3 stages crossed flow with 40kg/h MIK in each stage, calculate:

d) Global yield of the extraction.
e) Average acetone concentration in global extract.

If anybody can help, I will send pizza.Hello!

Please read forum rules. You have to show your attempts at solving the question to receive help.

Offering pizza and pasting the same thing twice doesn't change that.
