He didn't accuse you of being an "online fool", it's just apparent that you didn't read the forum rules. It's under the Sticky at the top of the forum appropriately labeled: "FORUM RULES: READ THIS BEFORE POSTING!" In particular, number five says:
5.) If you are new to chatting on the internet you should become familiar with Netetiquette. Even if you are an old hand at this internet thing you should review Netiquette 101. Netiquette 101 can be found here:
http://www.onlinenetiquette.com/courtesy1.htmlsome examples of bad netiquette are using CAPS for anything, not spell checking your posts before posting and the use of "U" and "r" for "You" and "are". Violators will have their topic deleted or locked, and subject to banning.
Furthermore, in the first sentence of your topic post, you asked for some good web sites or info. In an attempt to help you, he gave you just what you asked for, so I don't understand how you could say that he replied with "links to sites which are darn right offensive", unless of course you somehow find rubber, or the use of proper Netetiquette, as being offensive. Also, in your reply you said that you had checked out Wikipedia and had spent a week searching relevent sites. Please, none of us are mind readers, so state that you have done such research beforehand in the first post of your topic. Doing this also shows that you have put some effort into solving your problem by yourself, and that you aren't just trying to get others to do your homework for you.
