Hello, I reacted Sodium Hydroxide and Sulfuric Acid together to make Sodium Bisulfate, and after the reaction, I removed the product and cleaned the beaker. I noticed that there was this spot in the beaker that I could not get out, and I soon realized that the glass had been etched. I assume that the Sodium Hydroxide had heated up enough to etch the glass and now there is this spot in the beaker that is etched. Can I still use it, or do I have to throw it away? I really don't feel like ordering another beaker, as this is my 2nd 500mL beaker that I have replaced (first one shattered). And if I don't have to replace it can I still heat it on a hotplate? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!
