Hello,im doing my final year BEng dissertation on process simulation (using Aspen Plus) and optimization of evaporators in industries.
i would like to know the what are the steps to be able to simulate the process and then optimising an existing system(evaporation station).
these are my questions

1.how do i start?
2.should i do a mass balance and energy balance for the evaporation station? why?
3.what values i should input in the simulator? calculated values or measured values from industires?
4.which what benchmark or standard should i compare the optimisation of the unit?
