Ive only ever seen people use mineral oil in their bubblers, but was wondering why not/if silicon oil could be used instead? Silicon oil is more dense so I figured there would be less of a hazard of sucking oil into the line if pressure gets too low. Is it just a cost factor since mineral oil is cheaper or would the silicon oil be too dense to allow the nitrogen from efficiently getting through?
Thanks for any help. I have mineral oil in the lab but was just curious.
