I have a fairly simple prep for an allylic oxidation using selenium oxide as a reagent and I was looking for advice in regards to clean up of the glassware, stirrer bar and rubber stoppers. Currently I filter the product along with selenium through a celite pad, which does a good job in removing the majority of the selenium. My problem is with the left over trace amounts that cover the stirrer bar, that for the life of me I can't seem to remove. There is also small amount on a rubber stopper and seems to have stained it black.
Any advice on cleaning the remaining selenium would much appreciated
