Carbonyl oxidation number (not oxidation state)

What would be the oxidation number of the carbonyl? Would it be 1 (since there is only 1 oxygen or 2 since there are 2 bonds to that oxygen?

Contributions are usually -1 for hydrogen, +1 for electronegative elements and 0 for carbon

I have always calculated the oxidation number of carbon by counting the number of bonds to electronegative atoms (like oxygen) or electropositive atoms (like hydrogen) atoms.
