Help with Homocoupling Reaction
« on: June 06, 2017, 12:00:08 AM »
Hi,

I  am trying to couple this bromothiophene carbaldehyde, but what I got was the thiophene carboxyaldehyde. The bromine was replaced by H.
My conditions are as follow:

10 mole% of Pd(OAc)2
2 eqv. Zinc dust
Solvent is Acetone/Water 1:1

The above condition worked well in my undergraduate lab for homocoupling of iodobenzene. Is there any other way to homo-couple my starting material? THANKS!
