Hi, I am stuck in these two problems:
https://i.redd.it/ds9qnixiydiz.png
For the first reaction I'm not quite sure how to extend the ring.
In the second one, I'm thinking in the formation of formaldehyde from the dioxolane, but then I'm unsire abour the ring closure to keep the double bond.

For the first reaction, what do you think might be the first step?
For the second, how might formaldehyde react with your other starting material?

Do you miss some regents for your first reaction, it can be feasible with some other reagents not just with sulfuric acid and water. Can you check it again.
