Having some trouble on this reaction. can somebody take a look and let me know if it's correct or if i'm on the right track?

No, it’s wrong.
The flesh must point to the hydrogen and not to the bromine.
But this destroys the double bond and creates a cation and an anion. Which ones?

I would say there is almost nothing correct here. Please look in a textbook at 1,2 and 1,4 additions to dienes. This is also a good resource https://www.masterorganicchemistry.com/2017/03/22/reactions-of-dienes-12-and-14-addition/

when a diene reacts with HBr this is what happens, you should study the reaction conditions to know how much 1,2 product and 1,4 you can get

It seems to me that you might have conjured up a pair of electrons, but I am not entirely certain.

Try drawing a second resonance form for the carbocation.
