TLC:salicylaldehyde to H2 Selen (2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine)...WHAT WENT WRONG

Hey guys!
Last week I was doing a synthesis of a mimetic. I used 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine to check if any molecules of salicylaldehyde was still in the mixture-checking the purity of H2 Selen.
So the results were as expected. Not pure enough (hence the yellow stains/spots). But after I came back to check the TLC after 3 days this happened and I cannot explain what went wrong exactly. Need a correct answer ASAP!

“H2-Salen” and not “H2-Senen”!
Imines, dinitropehenylhydrazons and H2-Salenes included, are gradually hydrolyzed under acidic conditions (acidic silica) even by atmospheric humidity, which is visible after a few days.
