I would like to add the gold layer on the as-synthesis nanoparticles. In the article is said that "allowing 1 hour overgrowth" after adding the HAuCl4 to the nanoparticles solution. My question is "should I stirring the nanoparticles solution during the overgrowth or not?" what is the "allowing" mean?

I would stir. Its probably to allow time for the gold to fully coat the particles.
