Name of the following organic molecule
« on: June 04, 2018, 04:21:31 AM »
Hi

I can't give a name for the following molecule:

My doubt is the name of the  substituent in the six position

I have to call it like:

" 6(2-phenylethanoyl) "

OR

" 6(1-oxo-2 -phenylethyl)" ???

Thanks.

Ps: don 't pay attention to  the two name under the image xd

6-Phenylacetyl-nonanal because the 6-substitution derives from phenylacetic acid.
Parenthesis (brackets) is not necessary because phenylacetyl- has no individual numbering.
