On rare occasions while using Erlenmeyer flasks to boil down fluids I have had the fluid pop and come out of the flask. Some were caused by obvious reasons like too much fluid, too high of temperatures, etc. I tried using larger flasks to solve the problem, but then boiling takes much longer, too long realistically. Are there any practical methods of preventing this? I noticed that with beakers this problem does not occur, however beakers tend to have miniscule amounts of fluid deposit outside the flask, which is of great disadvantage. Please enlighten me. Thank you.
