Totally Mechanistic Blog
« on: December 13, 2006, 02:49:37 AM »
So for those not paying attention to the latest Chemistry bloggers' favorite intoxicant or rant-session. A new blog has popped up with a lot of potential, TotallyMechanistic. The blog says it will be focusing mainly on mechanisms, which is great because I love mechanisms and I'm personally one of those Name Reactions freaks. I even keep a small collection of name reactions on site and in this page: Name Reactions

I'm a believer in giving new blogs some publicity, so click the image and read/meet the newest member of the chemical blogging community. The only bad thing about the blog is that it's anonymous. Anonymous for now at least! ;)

Note 1: I've added a SNAP feature to the website. What SNAP does, is when you hover over a url it'll show you a preview of the other website. If you like it or hate it let me know.

Note 2: I've also added a block showing the most recent phdcomics. You can see the block only on http://blog.chemicalforums.com, it'll be to the right of the screen under the chat window. I know my blog is looking more like a dumpy myspace site, but oh-well.

Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.

Re: SNAP.  Absolutely hate it.  Impedes my view of the page and pops up too much when I just hover my mouse around the page randomly.  Good thought, but I'm not a fan.

Re: New blog.  Fabolous.  I also love name reactions and mechanisms...especially when they're hand-picked to be the most interesting :D

Re: Phdcomics.  Meh.  Mixed feelings here.  Could take it or leave it.

I hated SNAP too when I first saw it, might want to give it a little bit more time to get use to it.

Agree, the comics are fine, but Snap is yuck. Your readers with the slower connections and computers will hate you for Snap ;-)
I'm not suffering from a mental disease - I'm enjoying it.
