Ways to Improve Recovery Through Fractional Distillation
« on: October 02, 2006, 07:15:13 PM »
Well the title says it all.  I am pondering my own version, but I would like to know from some more experienced individuals.

Thanks for any input.  ;)

Well I am thinking that the azeotrope from the alcohol and water mixture will make it more difficult to separate the two, even with a fractional setup.

you cannot seperate azeotropes using fractional distillation.

you have to use an organic solvent to extract the alcohol, then use distill the the organic mixture to obtain alcohol.
