General Rule
« on: February 24, 2006, 07:38:55 PM »

Quote from Borek
"General rule is: we will not help you hurt yourself."

You might want to change it to the below statement or something to that effect.

"General rule is: we will not help you hurt someone, including yourself."

Borek has less words though.
Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.
3. Forum Supports LaTex

I know that brevity is the soul of wit, but I shoot for accuracy.

You have the makings of a member of congress. LOL.
"Say you're in a [chemical] plant and there's a snake on the floor. What are you going to do? Call a consultant? Get a meeting together to talk about which color is the snake? Employees should do one thing: walk over there and you step on the friggin snake." - Jean-Pierre Garnier, CEO of Glaxosmithkline, June 2006

I stick to 'yourself'. Even if it is not as broad, it is more directed to the reader. Thus its perception is better (one of the first marketing rules tells you to use 'you' in ads, it is one of the most 'positive' words). That's a 'practical psychology' :)

"We will not help you hurt anyone, including yourself."

or

"We will not help you hurt anyone, including you."

That way we appear more altruistic.

The shorter slogan, the better. Trust me - I was manipulating readers for ten years working as a journalist ;)
