Zinc Strearrate is used as anti-corrosion additive in oils. The method of protection is that zinc binds to metal surface creating a layer of stearrate tails sticking away from surface and shielding it from water sicne now the surface is non-polar.
My question is if the same effect will take place in a phosphate layer consisting of iron and manganese phosphate or if in the phosphate matrix the zinc stearrte will be unable to bond to the phosphate surface?
Thanks ahead
