What is "Florisil" used for in Chemistry experiment ?

        At present, I read a paper which mentions  Florisil in the course of a experiment. But I don not know Florisil before.And now, I am eager to know througly what on earth Florisil is.

      Would you help me ,please?

Florisil is a nice alternative for chromatography because it is less polar and less acidic than silica gel (SiO2).  Alumina is another alternative and its polarity falls between silica gel and florisil.

Due to its low polarity it is useful for very polar compounds which would "stick" too strongly to silica gel.  Its also good for very non-polar compounds that just fly off a silica gel column.

Just wash it several times with a polar solvent, methanol.
Check the last MeOH wash for impurities (HPLC), then equilibrate it with your elution solvent.
Development Chemists do it on Scale, Research Chemists just do it!
