Meyer's Auxillary Reduction
« on: November 01, 2019, 04:53:08 PM »
Does anyone have any procedures for the reduction of the Meyer's auxiliary to the alcohol.  The literature says the reducing agent LAB (lithium amidotrihydroborate) works very well.  The problem being the NH3*BH3 is crazy expensive.

Any thought are appreciated

Cheers!
If you're not part of the solution, then you're part of the precipitate
