Formic Acid Catalyst??
« on: February 02, 2020, 10:24:16 AM »
Hi there,
Formic Acid is usually produced:
CO+NaOH ----H2O---> HCOONa ----H2SO4---> HCOOH
or
CH3OH + CO  :rarrow: HCOOCH3
HCOOCH3 + H2O  :rarrow: HCOOH + CH3OH

Our required pressure in this reaction is 40 atm and temperature is about 80 °C

Is there any way to reduce pressure using a catalyst?
(To produce large quantities of industry)

Best Regards, Mojtaba.
