Why is this molecule aromatic?

I believe a molecule is aromatic if it has 4n+2 π electrons. However, they state that the nitrogen's 2 p electrons are delocalized, so now the ring should have 8π electrons, and therefore should not be aromatic, right? And if a molecule isn't aromatic, will it have a ring current, given that it doesn't have the stable and flat structure of an aromatic?

aromaticity rules apply to cyclic, planar, fully conjugated systems only.
