The exercise proposes to reduce this molecule with NaH. How can I do this?

I only glanced at it, but nothing stood out as being clearly wrong. However, the title of the thread threw me off. What would you say is the chemical role of NaH in your mechanism?

This is a very complex exercise that my teacher sent. This is actually one of the steps to get to the final molecule, which is quite complicated by the way.

I will probably post more about this exercise.
