Hello!
I've read in the Wiley's guide of chemical incompatibilities that CaCl
2 and H
3BO
3 are not compatible to each other. Unfortunately some kind of explanation is missing in the text. I am now just wondering why and which reaction between both can occcur?
I made some tests with
dry powder mixtures before, and it seems when mixing some gas forms after 24 hours which leads to a positive color reaction of KI-starch paper.
Is it possible that both components form a Calcium borate type, releasing H
2 and
Cl2 which would be oxidizing?
Hope someone can help me to solve this riddle
