I'm going to be completely honest, i know nothing about chemistry. My friend just started a graduate program and his professor gave this to him as practice. It's not official homework or anything, but I have no way to prove that. He's been working on it for a long time, and I'm hoping someone could help me with this so I can help him with it? I also kinda just want to show him up, but that part really isn't important.

Graduate school sounds very stressful and i'm sorry to everyone who has to go through it.

I've taken this sort of organic spectroscopy class and these sorts of questions only get trickier with less info as the semester goes on.
