Hello. I am working on a plot point for a story that involves the use of luminol to detect blood.

The characters in this story need to obtain luminol but the luminol spray is unavailable.  I understand luminol is also used in glow sticks.  So I was wondering if it's possible to use the luminol in glow sticks to create the luminol spray.  If it's possible, what other ingredients and processes would this require?
