hi all
does this reaction occurs? or the coupling reaction just take place with the benzene rings derivatives containing activating groups?

I have only seen this reaction with highly activated compounds.

Typically it's not benzene as a diazo coupling partner, but rather something electron rich like anisole or dimethylamino benzene. Probably it will occur to a detectable extent in the right solvent/temp/maybe a catalyst of some kind.
