I know that bromine water decolourizes alkane, alkene. but I came to know it also decolorizes phenol and aniline. I was wondering which other compounds having benzene ring decolorize bromine water.

Can you write an equation for bromine reacting with an alkane? Regarding aromatic rings, I would think about the speed of the reaction.
