For school, I'm doing a project where I shoot a small rocket, made from a bottle, into the air using various chemical reactions. The idea is to use a gas formed with the chemical reactions to exert pressure on the wall of the bottle. In the opening of the bottle, we put a cork, and therefore the bottle would normally shoot into the air. The first reaction was between vinegar and baking soda, but the bottle only flew up 20 cm. Another reaction is cola and mentos. In this reaction, not much actually happened. What could be the cause of this?
