SO2 + NaOH = Na2SO3 + H2O
Or
SO2 + NaOH = NaHSO3
Are both possible? How does it happen so then?

Both is possible depending of the amount of reactants.
But the first equation is not balanced.

Because sodium sulfite is Na2SO3.
Also one H is missing.
