Elephant toothpaste

Hi yall! I wanna make some elephant toothpaste, but can only get my hands on 3% H2O2, which makes the reaction pretty boring. In my testing i've found that it looks okay when mixed in a bottle with an extremely narrow neck, but not quite exciting enough. Do you know any way to make the reaction more "aggressive" and faster?

Are you using iodide as the catalyst?  You should be able to find 12% hydrogen peroxide in a beauty supply store.

Thanks for the tip, but unfortunately no. I distilled the 3% a bit but that dint work out that well. For good news tho, my teacher allowed me to experiment with the schools supply of 30%...

The tip came from a friend of mine who performs this demonstration on a regular basis.  I am worried that if one tried to distill hydrogen peroxide, that some would be lost via degradation.  I don't know for certain, however.

You have to distill it under reduced pressure and temperature, and you must use a very clean container since trace metals will decompose it especially at higher concentrations.
