Dear chemical forums, we recently got into our IUPAC/compound labeling unit, and I feel like I completed this worksheet work way too fast, and that I may have done something wrong. If you could please check my work, I would greatly appreciate it.
I think everything is straight-forward, but maybe question #2 is not so I will explain my reasoning for why I picked the answers that I did. There is a carboxamide, indicating an amide group (mide) is present. The oxygen with the furan ring acts as an ether, being part of a ring structure with two carbon atoms adjacent to it. The benzene part of the benzofuran structure is aromatic.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
