I need your help about natural polymers
« on: August 18, 2024, 08:16:54 AM »
I opened this thread hoping that you will provide support. I want to spray a coating on bentonite cat litter. I want this coating to increase the water holding capacity of bentonite cat litter, accelerate clumping and maximize the hardening of the litter. The polymer coating will reduce the dustiness of the litter to zero. I have already tried, but I had difficulty in homogeneous dispersion because I used more than one organic polymer. Since I increased the viscosity, it became difficult to apply by spraying method. In the materials I chose, I paid attention to be neutral in order not to disturb the pH level of the sand. I took care to be harmless in terms of health and environment. I would be very grateful if you can help me with the solution I want to prepare.

The list is long of possible coatings.  Some would chemically bond the bentonite to the polymer.  Is that how you are trying to reduce the dustiness?
