what are the isomeric forms of 2,3-dibromobutanedioic acid . it has a chiral carbon , are they enantiomeric isomers ?

there are two chiral centers having the same four substituents and are therefore equivalent. As a result, two of the four possible stereoisomers of this compound are identical due to a plane of symmetry, so there are only three stereoisomers of the compound. Two of these stereoisomers are enantiomers and the third is an achiral (optically inactive) diastereomer, called a meso compound. .

In a fischer projection, the two enantiomers have the Br trans configuration.
The meso compound has Br cis configuration, and the plane of symmetry makes it achiral.
