Halogenating benzoic acid at the 4 position
« on: October 24, 2004, 11:06:12 PM »
I have a problem, I have been looking for references and procedures regarding halogenating benzoic acid at the 4 position, most particularly 4-fluorobenzoic, and 4-chlorobenzoic acids.

Anyone have links to preperations, especially of 4-fluorobenzoic acid?

Thanks.

Awk, do you have any patent numbers, links, or the procedure for preparing the 4- acids from substituted toluenes?

If you have, it would be a great help.
