HO

CCO

-
Na
+
given that HO
2
CCO
2
-

It is both acid and base at the same time. It has both conjugate acid and conjugate base.

ok. so if I want to find a conjugate base, I need to make a K
b
process.
Therefore,
HO
2
CCO
2
-
(aq) + H
2
O (l) <-----> OH
-
(aq) + H
2
O
2
CCO
2
(aq)
does this sound correct?
where H
2
O
2
CCO
2
(aq) is the conjugate base?

Since when protonated form is a conjugate base?
What is
Bronsted-Lowry definition
of acid? Base?
