chemical balance
« on: February 04, 2007, 01:12:22 PM »
I'm from norway, and i i'm not sure if this is the right word, but i need help for a chemical balancing task.

"Chemical-K for I2 when temperature is 1000 K is
K= 3,76 * 10^5

The reaction equation is I2 ? 2I . In an experiment we started with 1,0 mol pure Iodine in a 2,00 dm3 box, and it is then warmed up to 1000K. How much "atomært" iodine was it in the box, when chemical balance is disposed.
I guess atomært means 2I. Sorry for the bad englsih, but it was hard to write chemistry from norwegian to english, a lot of hard words.

Please help me, i'm confused.

At first, you should write the reaction. Thus, you calculate the molarity concentration of I2. You take "x" as the concentration of I2 which I2 reacted and use K. That's all
