Hi everyone,
How I can find myself efficient in choosing the right catalyst for a given reaction? I have found no way beside memorising so far?
I don't know why acidic medium catalyst esterification, or why Hg++ ions catalyst the production of ketons from alkynes. I just memorised them, It just have one advantage, I can predict right catalysts for nearly simillar reactions.
I belive If i know (1) how different catalysts work and
(2) the mechanism of reaction, I'll be able to predict the right catalyst.
It will be greatly appreciated if you prescribe a good site covering this area (catalyst and chemistry).
Thx in advance. :-)
