Here is anohter synthesis i was working on for my practice final.

I made the gilman reagent from a grignard w/ methylbromide and acetaldehyde.
The instructions said to use cyclohexanol and ethanol plus any needed reagents, and i used methanol as one of the reagents.
I asked my instructor today and he said i should be able to do it w/ just ethanol - any help here? The hint he gave me was "substituted acetone".

Thanks.

Your synthesis looks pretty good . and the hint about using a substituted acetone.. a silyl enol ether of acetone as an alternative to the gilman reagent  and perform a 1,4- addition on cyclohexenone....Does it look right?
