How do I phrase...
« on: May 10, 2007, 01:24:55 PM »
I want to say 2-trimethylsilylthiophene and 3-trimethylsilylthiophene are both purified by vacuum distillation. Would it be incorrect to say 'both 2 and 3-trimethylsilylthiophene are purified by vacuum distillation' ? Do I have to list them both individually in full?

Saying 'both 2- and 3-trimethylsilylthiophene are purified by vacuum distillation' sounds clear enough to me.
