Li+ bigger than Cs+?
« on: May 19, 2007, 02:17:29 PM »
I seem to be having a hard time finding answers to exam questions I'm trying to use for revision since my uni doesn't give us the mark schemes for past papers.

One question asks why  Li+ is bigger than Cs+ in solution when Cs+ is bigger when solid

The second question asks why combustion enthalpy is constant for straight chain alkanes but varies for cyclic compounds, i had some ideas about delocalized electrons but I'm not too sure

any help given or links to sites where i can find the answers for my self would be much appreciated
